Campaigning for a station at Ilkeston

It really is a scandal that it has taken nearly 50 years to get a new Ilkeston station. In the mid-1990’s Derbyshire County Council aimed to get “trains up and running by 1995”.

It’s hard to believe that a new railway station will put Ilkeston on the map. It seems impossible to believe we are still waiting for it to open and it might not even be a success.
